Chiropractic Spinal Manipulation: Spinal manipulation/adjustment is beneficial for an array of orthopedic conditions ranging from neck pain, back pain, sciatica, headaches, and extremity pain. It is a non-evasive and successful way to reduce pain and stiffness by increasing range of motion of spinal and extremity joints.

Reinstating motion and increasing blood flow to the joint facilitates nerve function and decreases inflammation. The physician at The Twisted Spine LLC. utilizes an assortment of adjustment techniques and procedures that are safe, precise, and result driven. These techniques include Diversified, Thompson, and Activator.

Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy: Myofascial Trigger Points are painful areas within a tight band of muscle or fascia which evoke characteristic referred pain upon compression. They can cause the muscle to become restricted, weak, and painful. Trigger Points exist in groups creating mechanical dysfunction manifesting as commonly seen orthopedic conditions. They are caused by trauma, muscular fatigue, repetitive motion, acute overload, and emotional distress. They are frequently an overlooked reason why rest, medication, physical therapy, and other forms of treatment are unsuccessful.

Graston Technique: Graston is an instrument-assisted technique that safely and effectively mobilizes and treats soft tissue (ligament, tendon, fascia, and muscle) adhesions, restrictions, and scar tissue. Graston Technique benefits the patient with its unique healing properties removing soft tissue irritation which prevents most injuries from healing completely. It is most valuable in treating repetitive strain or overuse injuries.

Kinesiology Taping: Rocktaping is a form of taping that permits stabilization of muscles and joints during injury recovery. Rocktape stretches in one direction and not the other creating a bio-mechanical lifting mechanism that lifts the skin away from the soft tissue underneath, which allows more blood to move into an injured area to accelerate healing and recovery. It significantly reduces pain, improves lymphatic drainage, increases circulation, and promotes healing while restoring muscular strength.

Rocktape is a natural-hybrid product and consists of 97% cotton, 3% nylon and uses no drugs. The adhesive is a hypo-allergenic acrylic based adhesive and contains no latex.

Rock Taping is beneficial for many conditions including:

  • Achilles tendonitis
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Jumpers knee (PFS)
  • ACL/MCL issues
  • Rotator cuff
  • Groin and hamstring pulls
  • Lower back issues
  • Shin splints
  • Tennis and golf elbow
  • Pain associated with pregnancy

Physiotherapy: The Physician at The Twisted Spine LLC. uses moist heat, ice/cryotherapy, and rehabilitative exercises to assist in the healing process and stabilization of the patient's condition.

Moist heat (hydrocollator) is a comfortable deep penetrating heat which increases circulation, decreases swelling, and relaxes muscles and soft tissue.

Ice/Cryotherapy is a natural analgesic used on acute injuries to decrease pain, swelling, and muscle spasms.

Rehabilitative exercise is implemented while the injury is healing to start stabilizing and strengthening your system. Specific exercises are given to strengthen weakened tissues, stretch tight overactive muscles, increase proper movement, and improve balance.
