It's not necessarily how much you lift, it's how you lift. Of course you shouldn't lift anything that might be too heavy for you. When you lift, squat close to the object with your back straight and head up. Stand, using your legs to lift the load. Do not twist or bend your body while lifting or you may hurt your back.
Types of Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic care is great at providing pain relief, correcting the underlying problem, and maintaining overall wellness.
3 Essential Types of Chiropractic Care
Although chiropractic care is great at providing pain relief, corrective care provides long term benefits. As a patient pain relief is generally your first concern. During this phase you may need treatment twice a week to daily in order to reduce your symptoms. This phase of care is the Acute Phase or Pain Relief Phase and is necessary in order to relieve the symptoms.
After reducing your symptoms you may feel there is no reason for further treatment. However, with most conditions pain is the last thing to show up and the first thing to disappear.
Corrective care is one of the most important phases for restoring function, healing tissue, and stabilizing the spine. During this phase your treatment plan will be modified and in most cases the amount of visits reduced. This phase is necessary to complete the healing process. Throughout corrective care you will be assigned rehabilitative exercises designed to support your chiropractic care plan.
The biggest advantage of corrective care is you do not have to rely on medication in order to manage your condition. It also significantly reduces your chance of re-injury which can lead to unnecessary costs.
Wellness Care (Maintenance Care) begins directly after corrective is completed. Due to the stresses of living maintenance is necessary to reduce risks associated with health problems. During this phase the patient generally is seen once a month to address health issues before they arise or become serious. Wellness Care facilitates healthiness, happiness, and the overall feeling of well being.
